RABBIT HOLES - FABRIC

Wendy Peterson / Comment on this

I love to start my day following inspiration from one to the next, to the next.  I'm not sure rabbit hole is the best description of this process, let me know if you have a better one!  Anyway, I thought this was the best place to catalog some of my meanderings (oh, that's a good word).

Yesterday I met up with a friend and fellow pastel artist Steve Budas (we are both on the board of the Lake Country Pastel Society).  That will be today's starting point.

He gave me a beautiful table runner as a gift (by the way, Steve makes his own dress shirts -- REALLY) and this piece is made from the scraps.  SO beautiful.

I LOVE fabric and even volunteered to sort samples at Schumacher a few years back just to hang out with the luxurious textiles!

SR Harris Fabric warehouses!  They are discount fabric centers in the Twin Cities where I found the fabric for my living room furniture.  I was seriously giddy standing in that warehouse.

Little side-track here - I had a blast taking interior design classes at The Art Institutes (closed in 2023) back in 2009! One of my best birthday gifts was opening the "Supply Kit" when I first enrolled.  So many creative projects -- how much fun I had making that cardboard chair!!

I would love to learn how to quilt, except that there are only so many creative pursuits I can juggle at one time!  And, I don't really like to sew.   One of my MANY digital library crushes is Quilting Arts magazine which changed my entire concept of quilting.

Dream job:  Fabric Designer.

That concludes today's journey.  Off to create.
